The Rhinestone Baby

Saturday, June 13th, 2009

(Press play on the video above before continuing!)
————————————————–

(Sung by 13 Month old Jack-Evan, Typed by Mommy)

June 2009 by you.

I’ve been walkin’ these streets so long
Singin’ the same old song

June 2009 by you.
I know every crack in these dirty sidewalks of Broadway
Where hustle’s the name of the game
And nice guys get washed away like the snow and the rain

June 2009 by you.

There’s been a load of compromisin’
On the road to my horizon

June 2009 by you.

But I’m gonna be where the lights are shinin’ on me!

My Little Cowboy by you.

Like a rhinestone baby
Riding out on a steed in a rocky-horse rodeo

My Little Cowboy by you.

Like a rhinestone baby
Getting cards and letters from people I don’t even know

My Little Cowboy by you.

…..and offers comin’ over the phone!

My Little Cowboy by you.

Well, I really don’t mind the rain
And a smile can hide all the pain

My Little Cowboy by you.

But you’re down when you’re ridin’ the train that’s takin’ the long way
And I dream of the things I’ll do
With a subway token and a dollar tucked inside my shoe

My Little Cowboy by you.

There’ll be a load of compromisin’
On the road to my horizon

My Little Cowboy by you.

But I’m gonna be where the lights are shinin’ on me

My Little Cowboy by you.

Like a rhinestone baby
Riding out on a steed in a rocky-horse rodeo

My Little Cowboy by you.

Rhinestone baby….
Gettin’ cards and letters from people I don’t even know

June 2009 by you.

And offers comin’ over the phone!

Great New Christmas Song: I Need a Silent Night (Amy Grant)

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Yesterday afternoon as Kevin and I were preparing to go into the buffet restaraunt to eat lunch with my parents, this amazing song came on.  I had never heard it before, so I made Kevin wait just so I could finish the song!  It must be extremely new because I had a hard time even finding it on YouTube…but the words are awesome and I wanted to share it.  There’s just something about it that gives me chills.

It’s Amy Grant’s “I Need a Silent Night”.  I’ve included the lyrics too.

Verse 1
I made this same mistake before
Too many malls, too many stores
December traffic
Christmas rush
It breaks me till I push and shove
Children are crying
While mother’s are trying
To photograph Santa and sleigh
The shopping and buying and standing forever why
Well what can i say

Chorus
I need a silent night
A holy night
To hear an angel voice
through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear
A little peace right here
To end this crazy day
With a Silent Night

Verse 2
December comes, then disappears
Faster and faster every year
Did my own mother keep this pace
Or was the world a diffferent place?
When people stay home wishin’ for snow
Watching 3 channels on their tv
Look at us now rushin’ around
Tryin’ to buy Christmas peace

Chorus
I need a silent night
A holy night
To hear an angel voice
through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear
A little peace right here
To end this crazy day
With a Silent Night

Bridge:
What was it like back there in Bethlehem
With peace on earth, good will toward men?

Speaking part:
There were shepherds out in the field
keepin watch over their flock by night
And the glory of the Lord shown around them
and they were sore afraid
And the angel said “Fear not
for behold I bring you good news of great joy
That shall be for all people
for unto you
is Born this day a Savior
who is Christ the Lord
And His name shall called
Wonderful Counselor
Prince of Peace”

Chorus:
I need a silent night
A holy night
To hear an angel voice
Through the chaos and the noise
I need a midnight clear
A little peace right here
To end this crazy day
With a Silent Night

Ending:
To end this crazy day
With a Silent Night
