Demolition Time!

Last Friday, Kevin and I went to Floor It Now to pick our our new floor. We’re having laminate “hardwood-look” floor put down in our foyer, living room, and hall way. It’s a project 2 years in the making and we’re excited about it!
Over the weekend, we got a lot more accomplished (in terms of moving furniture and all my books) than we thought we would, so yesterday when the Floor It Now guy called us back to confirm final pricing, we went ahead and scheduled him to send the install guys out this Saturday! We’ve been working like madmen around here, and plan on having everything finished up Friday night (thankfully Kevin has Fridays off!).
Last night saw the start of the official “demolition” of our living room. The couch had been moved Sunday night, all the books and shelves have been moved over the weekend, so Kevin borrowed a dolly from the neighbor to get our largest furniture piece (a huge cherry finish entertainment center) moved. It was a crazy chore to get all of our electronic stuff unhooked and everything cleared off! Labeling was very important to me. You don’t know frustration until you look at hundreds of black wires and have no clue as to what goes where or with what machine!
So, finally, with that out of the way, up comes the carpet!

“Baby, will you PLEASE stop taking photos and move this stuff so I can clear this area??”
Here is my lovely man, doing lovely man work, and lovingly stripping up the parquay wood squares in our little entry way. It was hot in our house, so he took his shirt off (a rare thing for him to do).
I didn’t mind a bit. :) Ty Pennington, eat your heart out.
I love playing with the close up focus on my camera. Berber looks so different at this angle. Not much I can say about the ugly green foam though! It does present a striking contrast, and interesting view.
