Ask anyone you know who was a kid in back in that weird decade sandwhiched between the 1970s and 1990s, and they’ll proudly exclaim “Whoohoo!  I’m a child of the ’80s!”.

The 80s were a great time to be a kid.  I mean, face it, how many kids nowadays are truly going to look back on Zoey 101, Hannah Montana or Fairly Oddparents and get weepy with nostalgia?  Probably zip.

But the shows for kids in the 1980s were amazing.  None of today’s buttered up fluffy story lines for those shows!  Real themes, real issues, and real examples that taught you lessons were portayed.  Even in the cartoons, you could find the tougher grown up issues being touched upon in a beautifully written manner.

As I’ve mentioned before, I love YouTube.  One could literally spend days walking through those media lined virtual hallways.  The fact that you can type any show or song title into the search bar - and have correct guesses pop up before you even finish typing - shows how much it is used by those with the same interests and memories.

As a step away from the ordinary here at Little Jack’s Corner, I thought I’d do a cataloging series highlighting some of my favorite shows from the 1980s, complete with their intro theme songs from YouTube.

For the next week or so, TV shows will play here each night, with the newest series post appearing at 8:00 pm.  Shows will come from a variety of stations that were around back then, including Disney, Nickelodeon (Classic Nick!), and even PBS.  Be sure to stop by and catch a glimpse of 80s kids TV.  Or bring the kids and expose them to some good TV fare for a change. :)

THE FIRST SHOW WILL BEGIN AT 8:00 PM TONIGHT.  LOOK FOR THE POST!
