The weekends are rather restful. I make sure most of everything that *needs* to be done is done throughout the week. I’d rather spend time with family on the weekends than anything!

Thanks for commenting on my post “Home Economics 101″. I was also spoiled as a child and didn’t really have any household responsibilities. It’s also true what you said about teaching sons to care for themselves to some extent. Mothers are not teaching daughters to care for the husband and children let alone the home.
I teach my sons a little differently than I do my girls. My boys Home Ec curriculum is has a housekeeping core but them branches off into care of the home such as repair, and heavy maintanence.
I built a small bookshelf and a birdfeeder with my 7 year old and I teach him how to hammer, screw and the rules of tool safety. My daughters learn to do these things as well but their core focus is more on in the food prep and interior design of the home.
I sometimes think that my sons will have to search dilligently for a wife suitable for them, because I have set such a high standard of lifestyle. But I have no fear that God will provide the perfect spouses for my children.
Thanks again for commenting. Enjoy the great weather that we will be having his week.
