The Grand Meaning of Deep Cleaning

Before we look any further into my daily routines, I thought it would be best to describe what the “Deep Clean…” part means for each room listed on each day.

In true FlyLady style, I’ve divided my living space into zones.

Those zones are:

Living Room (Monday)
Kitchen & Bathrooms (Tuesday)
Guestroom & Porches (Wednesday)
Master Bedroom (Thursday)
Nursery (Friday)
Vehicles (Saturday)

Then, on each zone’s selected day, I take my trusty wand…ur…rag and head into it to do some thorough cleaning.  What do I mean by deep cleaning?  Here’s my breakdown for each room.

TAKE A DEEP BREATH!

—————–

As you see, I have a small reminder to myself at the end to continue my breathing routine in the midst of it all.  But no, seriously, this may seem like a lot, but in reality it usually doesn’t take long at all.  Maybe 1-3 hours tops.  And I mean tip-top, this place needs a chop-chop.

Knowing what I’ve got to do every day also helps make sure it actually gets done.  Before I had my little routine set in my head, I probably couldn’t remember the last time the bed sheets had been washed.  In fact, I’ve always been bad about changing bed sheets.  I think I once went for 3 years without changing them.

Well, ok, maybe not that long, but that gives you some idea of how badly I need the routine listed!  My brain simply can not remember to do these minute things otherwise!
